History

Better Scouting and Guiding Day was first introduced to our scout group in 1987. It was a camp day where scouts and guides gather to exchange their knowledge, opinions and as well as have some fun with the games. 8 camp days of this kind was organized and most of them were very successful.

In 1999, our scout group had decided that we should organize a larger and better combine camp. Consequently, Talents Camp was founded by the 51st Group Council. The first camp was chaired by Mas. Teoh En Shenq and assisted by all the other fourth formers. It was organized at the Youth Park campsite on the 2nd of April till the 4th of April. About 120 scouts and guides as well as rangers participated in the camp. These rangers and girl guides are from St. Georges Girls' School, Union High School, Phor Tay High School, Convent Green Lane and Convent Light Street. Various competitions, like flag and flag pole competition, gadget competition, backwood's man cooking competition and so on was organized. The camp lasted for three days and two nights. It was rather enjoyable and the scouts and guides got a chance to make new friends and exchange opinions.

Now, Talents Camp has become an annual event of our scout group. It is aimed at promoting better friendship among scouts and guides, allowing scouts and guides to exchange their scouting and guiding knowledge and to learn the principle of leadership.
